Don’t Let Obesity Take Over Your Life

Obesity is one of the major health problems that have risen over the years all over the world. Studies show that the number of obese people has doubled since the year 1980. Another cause for concern is that not only adults are getting obese but young children as well. In children, cases of obesity have tripled and one out of three kids in America is either overweight or obese.

What is obesity in the first place? Obesity is defined as having too much fat in the body to the extent that one’s health is compromised. It is different from being overweight, wherein a person merely weighs too much. Having a body mass index or BMI of 30 or greater means that a person is obese.

Obesity is linked to an increased risk for developing health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. Being obese can also lead to infertility and fatty liver disease.

There are many causes of obesity. One major cause of obesity is eating too much and getting excessive calories which the body cannot burn. It is undeniable that a lot of people are overeating and the foods they eat are high in fats, sodium, and sugar. In other words, a lot of people become obese because they tend to eat empty calories or foods high in calories but are poor in nutritional value. Another cause of obesity is leading a sedentary lifestyle. Physical inactivity can lead to obesity especially when coupled with high calorie intake. There are too many conveniences in today’s modern world that eliminates the need for people to keep physically active. Other causes of obesity include lack of sleep, problems with metabolism, and certain medications.

On a positive note, although the number of obese people has increased over the years, studies show that there is an improvement in cholesterol and blood pressure management among obese patients. This can be attributed to better screening and treatment methods.

Obesity can be stopped. People just need to be more conscious of what they eat and what they do. Education is an important part of awareness and making people aware of what causes obesity can make a big difference

Dieting Tricks That Truly Work

No one likes to talk about losing weight, almost as much as no one likes to stand on the scale to see what their current weight is. But sometimes something happens, like seeing a photograph of yourself or catching a glimpse of yourself in an unflattering mirror, that makes you want to try, once again, to lose weight. Most women who are serious about losing weight have spent hundreds of dollars every year on dieting programs or drinks that simply don’t work. You don’t need to spend that much money on losing weight, when you can simply learn a few dieting tricks, and put them into use, in order the shed the pounds.

Slowly but Surely

The biggest trick when you’re losing weight is to change how you live your life, which can be difficult for many people to do. They say that if you do something for two weeks it becomes a habit – tell that to someone who hates exercising! But in all reality, you can lose weight by changing your life, and the longer you do it, the easier it will get to do it. To begin with, you should start to cut down your sugar intake, and one way to do that is to cut down the amount of sodas you’re drinking. Soda has a great deal of sugar in it, and it’s not the good kind of sugar. Drink a can of soda and you’re putting 9 teaspoons of sugar into your mouth. Can you imagine actually eating nine teaspoons of sugar? Try putting nine teaspoons of sugar into your morning coffee and you’ll see how bad soda truly is for you. But cutting it out entirely can be difficult, so it’s best to start weaning yourself off of the soda by getting rid of one soda a week.

Another great trick that can help you to lose weight is to start moving more. With comfortable couches and chairs it’s easy to remain sedentary, which doesn’t help your waistline a bit. Instead of sitting on the couch during commercials, why not try walking up and down your stairs? Or if you don’t have stairs, stand up and walk in place. This simple act of moving will help you to burn a few calories and will make your muscles feel good. Making healthy choices every day is the best way to go about losing weight and can truly help you to drop the pounds over time.

Loosing Weight after 40

As we all know losing weight is extremely difficult especially after you hit 40, metabolism slows down and it seems like everything you try doesn’t work. Then you get fooled into buying expensive foods that get delivered to your home thinking this is the answer. You might even consider having surgery to lose the weight. Yes that one does work but you will gain weight back if you don’t stick to a diet plan. As a person who has always struggled with weight gain and tried many different diets, pills, pre-packed foods, surgery, etc I finally found one that does work.

Dietaccess was a simple way to lose weight. It is an 11 day plan where you select foods YOU LIKE and it creates a menu for you. After the 11 days is over you have 3 free days to eat what you want. Remember you do not want to over eat or you will gain back some of the weight you just lost. Then you re-select foods again (can be the same) and create a new menu. This is repeated until you have reached your ideal weight. So you probably figure the foods are not good. You’re wrong; you can eat bacon, sausage, eggs, chicken, veggies, fruits, and just no carbs to speak of. Everyone that has gone on this diet that I know of (which is quite a few) has lost weight. Usually you will lose around 8 pounds the first 11 days, and then it seems like about 5 after that will stay off per 11 days. This has worked for both men and woman of all ages. Best of all is that you can eat as much as your want within the foods it gives you for the day. You can eat the foods in any order. If the foods are only listed once, you should only eat them one time during that day. Most important is you eat 4 times during the day. The diet generator cost me 29 dollars to join, pretty cheap compared to other plans. Best of all it actually does work.

I have lost, then went on vacations and went off the diet and never gained back weight. If you get carried away and eat lots and lots of junk food you will gain some back.. Like this last Christmas for me, but overall still down and I just go back on it for a couple weeks. Now I have my husband on it trying to lose his holiday fat and he is doing excellent, plus he is very excited to actually see the pounds go off daily.
